The American soprano has a versatile repertoire, from Baroque opera to contemporary pieces. She has starred as the title role in Iain Bell’s opera adaptation of Hogarth’s A Harlot’s Progress and in Lorin Maazel’s 1984. Her renowned artistry has earned her the reputation of one of the most sought-after interpreters of song. She enjoys a close artistic partnership with pianist Helmut Deutsch and frequently performs recitals with harpist Xavier de Maistre. She has also recorded numerous recordings with the harpist, and has collaborated with the latter on a CD titled Nuit d’etoiles.

Born in Bavaria, Germany, Diana Damrau first won the prize for outstanding voice at the Hochschule für Musik Wurzburg, where she studied with Carmen Hanganu.
